AgustaWestland was an Anglo-Italian helicopter company owned by Italy's Leonardo - Finmeccanica. The company developed and manufactured helicopters and other rotorcraft (aircraft that use rotor blades to provide lift throughout an entire flight) specially designed for military and commercial uses. Its products ranged from light single-turbine helicopters to tiltrotors to Apache combat helicopters produced under license from Boeing for the British Army. AgustaWestland sold different models globally through joint ventures and partnerships with major US and European helicopter OEMs and aerospace/defense companies, including Bell Helicopter Textron. In mid-2016 AgustaWestland was integrated into its parent company.
